| Today, in our own communities, neglected, abused, and underprivileged children are fighting an epic battle; the fight for their future. Even worse, their hopes, dreams, and self-confidence suffer. I believe that a child should never have to witness the destruction of their own dreams and hopes because their community turned a blind eye. Many community organizations across the nation provide the security and promise necessary to help uplift children so that they may have the heart to reach for the stars. However, much more needs to be done.
Colston Charities is on a mission. Although our children may still face hardships, we, as a community can provide the necessary tools and opportunities for our children to win this fight. I believe that every child should have every opportunity afforded me; unconditional love, security, and mentorship.
Colston Charities is dedicated to helping abused, neglected, and underprivileged children of all backgrounds (ethnic and financial) realize their gifts, dreams, and potential. Providing mentorship, motivation, and guidance is the key. With the support of our community, we can help our children shed their insecurities and stereotypes and flourish. They will learn to be the best they can be at whatever they do; and they will always have our unconditional love.
Our goal is to provide our communities with the funding, education, and partnerships necessary to reach our under privileged children. Programs such as youth mentorship, academic scholarships, before and after school programs, and sports development camps are our focus. With the help of our community leaders and the voices of the children themselves, we also strive to create new and exciting programs to support our children. These children are part of our community, and so, a part of us. It is our responsibility to help our children. |
